Commodore's remarks:
The Commodore introduced Holly Perrault as the new Treasurer. He expressed
thanks to Holly and Gord Cale for their efforts getting treasurer’s books
changed over, to Gord for the newsletter, and to Peter Palubiski for
arranging to clear the trees in the channel.
Minutes of the previous meetings
The Secretary read the minutes of the
September 2, 2007 and December 17, 2007 Director’s meetings and the Minutes
of the Fall General Meeting.

Treasurer's Report
The Treasurer reported a first quarter income
of 22316.73 and expenses of 3984.04. Dues had been received from 85
members.

It was recommended by the Treasurer that an
audit process be performed on the club finances. The Treasurer was asked to

Report of Officers
Vice Commodore
Keys:
It had previously been decided to change the keys for the gates. The locks
have been reconditioned and new keys have been purchased. The new keys were
given to Gord Cale to arrange distribution. Paid up members will be able to
exchange their old “blue” key for a new key. New members receive a key as
part of the initiation expense. There is a replacement cost of $100 for a
lost key. Keys will be available at the Spring General Meeting or by
contacting the Secretary. Action Cale
Flags:
Dave Hyman was asked to coordinate with Paul Proudfoot the purchase of a
supply of club flags and pennants. Action Hyman
Rear Commodore
River Condition:
Renzo Marconi, Peter Palubiski, and Dave Hyman have sounded the channel and
it appears to be at least as good as last year. The recommendation is that
we do not dredge at this time. Renzo was asked to contact the Saugeen Valley
Conservation Authority regarding dredging Action Renzo Marconi. The
channel markers will be done when there is a nice day.
Solar lights
The contractor is supposed to be installing solar power for the channel
lights after the end of April.

Bank improvement
A quote was received on the bank improvement
between the South ramp and the Millard property of $34000. This was left
with Dave Hyman to investigate further.
Sludge dredge:
There is still a desire to do a test pumping if there is a problem with the
sludge again this summer.
Fleet Captain
There will only be the one BBQ this summer on the Civic Holiday weekend.
Menu will include corn, hot dogs, hamburgers, bean. A smaller general order
is anticipated since the supplies are usually expected to cover two events.

New Business:
Renzo was asked to look into the amount of
maintenance that will be needed on the solar lights.
Doug Spitzer is not listed on the web site.
Paul Buttinger’s concern about the “Directors
at Large” being non-voting was discussed.
BIRT the Club donate $300 to each of the Lake
Huron Fishing Club and the Pine River Watershed Initiative Network.
